‘GANGS OF LONDON’ AIRS ON SKY ATLANTIC

‘Gangs of London’ aired on Sky Atlantic this week to rave reviews from both critics and viewers. The Radio Times described it as “The Godfather meets The Raid”. The Metro called it, “the most addictive, wince-inducing thriller in years”. The Guardian gave it 4 stars and labelled it, “a thrilling dose of capital punishment”. Fans on Twitter are already crying out for a second series.

Den of Geek featured a piece on ‘The best Gangs of London fight scenes and the action movies that inspired them’. Amongst their picks was the Episode 9 showdown between Ed and Marian… “The cemetery setting, the rival bodyguards hovering ominously in the background, the haunting rendition of ‘Abide With Me’ – this is almost operatic stuff that owes a lot to the classical mob epics of the likes of Coppola and Scorsese. Hardly a word is spoken, but the scene is loaded with tension – favouring acting chops over acrobatics. ”
