REACTIONS TO ‘GANGS OF LONDON’ SEASON 2

‘Gangs of London’ season 2 has now completely aired in the UK and the verdict is in… Critically, we’re seeing 5 stars from Heat; 4 stars from The Independent, The Telegraph, The Radio Times and The Evening Standard. Although our personal favourite has to be the 1 star review in The Guardian. Ladbible also have hailed it as “the best show ever”, so I think it’s fair to say we have well and truly delivered.

I’ve enjoyed following Twitter reactions throughout the airing of the show, to get the audience’s side of things. Clearly there are viewers out there who are looking for something else in their TV viewing these days, but also clearly there are audiences who feel they aren’t getting enough of this sort of stuff. And they’re lapping it up. That’s not to say that Gangs isn’t a show for high-brow audiences. I think there are plenty of high-brow viewers out there who respect the show for it’s unique strengths; the quality, the production value, the strength of the cast, the intricacies of the set pieces and it’s serious-yet-unserious charm.
